8 Weeks Before

Start by decluttering. Go through every room and decide what to keep, donate, sell, or throw away. Now is also the time to start researching moving companies and getting quotes.

• Create a moving binder to track estimates and receipts
• Sort items into Keep, Donate, Sell, and Trash categories
• Get estimates from at least three professional movers

4 Weeks Before

Begin packing items you don't use daily. This includes seasonal clothing, books, and decorative items. Remember to label every box clearly.

• Order packing supplies (boxes, tape, bubble wrap)
• Notify utility companies of your move date
• Submit a change of address form to the post office

Moving Day

Keep essential items with you. Ensure the movers have the correct address and contact information. Do a final walk-through of your old place before leaving.
